Nokulunga’s day care appears to be flourishing. As you step into the centre, you are greeted by the cheerful sounds of children’s laughter and the sight of colourful artwork adorning the walls, showcasing the creativity and imagination of the little ones. The spacious and bright interior is filled with natural light, creating an inviting atmosphere that feels like a second home.

Nokulunga has managed to implement most of the recommendations towards her vision to create a nurturing and vibrant space dedicated to the holistic development of the children. She is still in the process of implementing other recommendations, including registering as a PBO.

One of the highlights of the facility is the brand-new baby room, specially designed to cater to the unique needs of infants. This cosy, serene space is equipped with soft lighting, comfortable cribs, and stimulating toys, providing a soothing environment where the youngest learners can thrive. The dedicated and experienced caregivers ensure that each baby receives personalized attention, fostering a sense of security and love.

Adjacent to their indoor facilities, they have created a beautiful vegetable garden that serves as both an educational resource and a source of fresh produce. Children actively participate in planting, tending, and harvesting a variety of vegetables, learning valuable lessons about nature, responsibility, and healthy eating. The vibrant garden not only enriches their learning experience but also contributes to the community. “We proudly sell our homegrown vegetables to the public, with all proceeds reinvested into the day care to enhance our programs and facilities”, she added.

Nokulunga believes that the recommendations will continue to help her in creating a dynamic and supportive environment where children can develop essential skills and a love for learning. Her dedicated staff, innovative programs, and unique features like the baby room and vegetable garden, make her day care centre a special place where every child can flourish.
