1. Mantwa Mashiloane & Mantwa's Glam Hair

Mantwa’s signage is prominently displayed outside her salon. According to her, this has caused a radical increase in the number of clients who came in to make enquiries about her services. As we enter the salon, she is waiting for a client who needs touch-ups, while her assistant is busy doing a high-quality frontal lace wig maintenance routine. At first, the wig was dry, frizzy and unconditioned, but by the end of the conversation, the wig looked shiny, straight and brand new.

Mantwa tells us that she is seeing a larger number of appointments coming from referrals, rather than walk-ins from Facebook postings, that seem to be less effective in landing new customers.

She also explains that over the past few months, her focus on business was somewhat distracted by family matters, an issue which was also financially demanding on her. She said that after the month of July, things will be back to normal, and she will be able to implement the remaining recommendations, as she found them extremely valuable. She has a bank account which helps her to manage her personal and business accounts with ease and is budgeting to ensure that she can increase her savings again to reinvest in the business after July. She expresses immense gratitude for all the insights imparted to her.
