Keabetswe Modise, or Kea, as his friends and customers call him, is the founder and owner of Gemini Networking Communications, one of a handful of ITC companies active in Alex. Kea is an ambitious and driven businessperson, and since 2015, when he participated for the first time in the LBS GE programme, the business has opened 5 branches in Gauteng province, including 3 outlets in Alex alone.

Gemini offers a range of B2B and B2C ITC services, ranging from basic internet café services (including copy and scanning), web design, graphic design, project facilitation and business development services for SMEs, as well as photography. Gemini also supports local skills development by offering 1-year learnership programmes for individuals.

From its existing network, Kea is looking at obtaining official accreditation of Gemini’s learnership programmes, and expanding his business, possibly through a franchising model.
