3. Kamogelo Sebati & Pretty Little Things Beauty Bar

Kamogelo arrived looking confident and radiant, beautifully showcasing the quality of the self-care and beauty services she offers through her boutique.

During our engagement, she shared that while business has become slightly quieter during this period, she has chosen to use the extra time productively by committing herself to a gym routine and focusing on personal wellness.

Kamogelo remains highly active on social media and has built a strong presence as an influencer within her community. She regularly posts lively and engaging WhatsApp videos, creatively marketing her services and encouraging clients to experience the welcoming atmosphere of her boutique.

In an effort to reduce operational costs and adapt strategically to the changing business environment, she recently relocated her store to Kew, just outside Alexandra. The move has significantly reduced her rental expenses from R4,500 to R2,500 per month, allowing her to save a considerable amount while maintaining her business operations.

She explained that she understands the nature of her industry well and recognizes that this is typically a quieter season, where she mainly depends on loyal returning customers with only a few new clients coming in. However, she remains optimistic and is already anticipating the busy spring season in September, when customer demand traditionally increases substantially.

Kamogelo expressed excitement about her new business location, particularly because she currently has no direct competitors operating nearby. She hopes to maximize this advantage and steadily build a stronger customer base within the area. What stood out most during our conversation was her realistic and mature understanding of business cycles.

She acknowledged that quieter periods are unavoidable within her line of work, but instead of becoming discouraged, she prepares herself mentally and financially for such seasons.

Beyond her entrepreneurial journey, Kamogelo is also deeply committed to her education and personal growth. She shared her excitement about pursuing her LLB studies and proudly spoke about her goal of completing her qualification next year. Her ability to balance business, studies, personal wellness, and social media branding reflects a strong sense of discipline, ambition, and resilience.

Even during slower business periods, she continues to present herself with confidence and positivity, qualities that are likely to contribute greatly to her future success both professionally and academically.
